DESCRIPTION: Per the Reporting Party : There was a release of crude oil during the transfer from one storage tank to another storage tank due to a failure of a transfer line located approximately 6-8 feet underground. The line failed for unknown reason causing the material to release into the soil and then up to the surface. No waterways have been impacted. The release has been stopped. The released material is contained within the facility in a bermed retention area. This is an oil processing/separation facility. A contractor will be handling clean up. Further investigation will be taking place to determine the approximate quantity of release.

Per the NRC Report : "The caller stated that a transfer line broke due to unknown cause at the location. Because of this an unknown amount of crude oil released onto gravel at the location." Remedial Actions : "The caller stated that their OSRO is on site addressing the release."
