DESCRIPTION: Per the reporting party, Marathon Petroleum Company is experiencing a flaring event at the listed refinery which began at 0407 this morning and exceeded the reportable threshold of 500 pounds of sulphur dioxide into the atmosphere at 0421 this morning. The flaring event is currently ongoing. There has not been a public flare notification, but the Air Quality Management District will be notified. Marathon Petroleum Company personnel are responding to the flaring event.
