g. DESCRIPTION: *** Potential Release ***

Per the Reporting Party: A 24 foot Panga vessel with an outboard motor was discovered on the beach that had been run aground. It does not appear to be releasing any material. There are 8 empty fuel cans on board and 10 - 5 gallon containers on board containing gasoline. U.S. Border Patrol is on scene conducting an investigation. The U.S. Coast Guard has been notified. A boat tow company will be contacted to remove the vessel. There is no CF # or other identifying #'s visible on the vessel. A Garmin GPS device was located on the shore near the vessel along with a Ziploc bag containing approximately 15 cell phones.

Per the NRC Report: " /// Potential discharge /// Caller reports an abandoned tonga vessel on the beach. Caller states there are about (08) sealed gas cans on the beach and an additional (04) on the vessel. There is currently no sheen visible on the water. The vessel is completely unmarked. The gas cans are about 5 gallon containers. Caller states they observe 23 PFD's strown across the sand. A ziploc bag containing roughly 15 cell phones." Remedial Actions: "Multiple Agencies are on scene at this time"
