g. DESCRIPTION: RP states there is a fire at one of their energy storage facilities that contains lithium ion batteries that started todays date at approx 1720 hours. There as been a smoke release of toxic fumes, there is copper in the lithium ion batteries. The fire department is currently on scene. The fire has not yet been extinguished, fire department is setting up ladder truck with aerial spray for fire suppression operation and are taking a defensive position. The enclosure that is on fire is a 40 foot container, there are 924 lithium ion batteries contained in the enclosure - total weight of batteries is approx 180,485 pounds of lithium ion batteries in the enclosure. The entire enclosure is on fire. The water from the fire suppression effort is going into earthen/rock catch basins at the facility, no water will leave the site - at this point no water has reached the catch basins. No storm drains or waterway will be effected. Fire suppression water will be completely captured in catch basins, then company will provide clean up. The Fire Department has evacuated unknown number of homes just north of the facility (direction wind/smoke going). RP states this facility is used to store energy. RP will call back with additional update.
