Orignal Description:***Potential Release*** Hetch Hetchy Gas staff members determined that there may be a sulfur hexafluoride gas leak after attempting to trouble shoot faulty equipment and adding 20.9 lbs of SF6 to breaker CB420 at the Warnerville switch yard substation. To mitigate the situation, APS has been contracted to respond and detect the leak and repair, it is unknown when APS will be onsite to repair. Staff used an SF6 gas detector and were not able to detect a leak and operations have resumed, the detector will be used throughout the day until the leak is repaired to ensure there is no release occurring.

The leak rate is approx. 5.43 lbs of SF6 gas per year which is 0.0144 of SF6 gas released daily.
The leak is being monitored until it can be repaired.
