g. DESCRIPTION: Per the reporting party, at 1411 in the afternoon, the Torrance Refining Company experienced a release of petroleum oil from a pipe at their refinery. At 1451 the release was stopped. The release is contained within secondary containment. The cause of the release is unknown. They do know that the release is coming from a flange on a pipe, but the size of the pipe is unknown. The spill impacted soil at the refinery. No waterways were impacted. Torrence refining company personnel will be performing the clean-up. They do not need any outside assistance. Torrance Fire Department is on scene. The refinery continues to operate normally.
