g. DESCRIPTION: | ***Potential Release***Potential Release***Potential Release*** Per reporting party, a container with the doors open came in from a rail line that had Hazmat placards. A 3 ft by 6 ft canister fell out of the container of the rail car. LA FD and Port police conducted an investigation and inspected the canister and noticed it was empty and not leaking. UN 3254 tributyl-phosphane was the last remnants of the canister. The canister was secured and placed in a containment area. The canister was cleaned up and contained by 1500. There was no Hazmat release and no waterways where impacted. Per NRC: This is a potential to release... Caller is reporting that a canister inside a railcar container somehow fell during transit, this was discovered when the railcar arrived at the port facility. This had the potential to release tributyl-phosphane. Caller states that there was probably just a residual amount of material inside the container. ---railroad information---railroad involved: unknown, train number: DTTX765527, train type: rail car, cars: 1 ---Remedial actions---They moved the canister and railcar container in a containment area in the event of a release.
