g. DESCRIPTION: A semi truck trailer caught fire due to an unknown mechanical issue. The driver pulled over to the side of the road. First responders including CHP, Kern County Fire Department, and Caltrans arrived at the scene. Several lanes were closed temporarily while the fire was extinguished. During the incident, an unknown number of chlorine containers were damaged, leading to an estimated release of 100 gallons of liquid chlorine onto the trailer's floor and the roadside shoulder. An environmental specialist was called in to assist, and cleanup efforts are currently underway. The incident is under investigation to determine the cause of the fire and assess any environmental impact caused by the chlorine release.
