g. DESCRIPTION: The reporting party states that a recycle load caught fire for unknown reasons and was dumped at the given location. The local fire department was notified and responded to extinguish the fire. A sweeper truck and a pump truck were on the scene to conduct the cleanup. A total of 4,106 gallons of firefighting water mixed with cardboard ashes was released, impacting a storm drain. Of this, 500 gallons of the firefighting water mixed with cardboard ashes were recovered from the storm drain. The release has been stopped and contained. The reporting party completed the cleanup. There are no unmet needs. The reporting party states it is unknown what caused the incident, but it is likely that a lithium battery started it.
