g. DESCRIPTION: | Reporting party states as a resut of a vehicle persuit a passenger vehicle broke through a barrier at the end of Monterey Wharf 2 and entered into the Pacific Ocean. It is estimated 20-30 gallons of various vehicle fluids, including petroleum products released into the ocean as a result of the accident. A sheen of unknown color can be seen. RP states it is possible hundreds of yards long. RP states it is longer than a football field, but not nearly as wide. Due to it being nighttime, they are unable to give exact measurements. It is currently not contained or stopped. No booms have been placed due to it being night time. The car will not be removed tonight. Four individuals were evaluated by medics on scene, two were taken the hospital. FD, PD, USCG, and Harbor Master were on scene. The Monterey Sheriff dive team is expected to respond in the a.m., and the Harbor Master is expected to remove the vehicle at first light. The fire department has confirmed a release of fluids. Per NRC: POTENTIAL RELEASE // CALLER STATES A UNKNOWN PASSENGER CAR DROVE OFF OF A PIER INTO THE PACIFIC OCEAN WHILE BEING PURSUED BY LAW ENFORCMENT.
