| g. DESCRIPTION: | Per the reporting party, at approximately 1753 this evening, a Metro Link passenger train collided with a white GMC Canyon at a crossing. The crew observed the occupant of the vehicle get up and walk around, but it is unknown if the individual was injured. The Ontario Police Department is enroute to investigate. The train number is SCR 406 of the 17th, and the lead locomotive is SCAX 918. The train was traveling east, and it was a main line passenger track. The DOT crossing number is 810892 M, and the crossing was located near South Vine Avenue and West State Street. Lights, bells, whistles and arms were present at the crossing. The line is closed for the moment, but it is unknown how long it will remain closed. The clean up effort of this incident is unknown at the time of the report. Per the NRC report, the caller stated an eastbound passenger train struck a pick-up truck at a grade crossing. The caller stated there were no injuries reported just property damage. | ||
