g. DESCRIPTION: | Per reporting party, during the dismantling of locomotives, an attempt to remove the fuel tanks resulted in the release of approximately 15-20 gallons of diesel onto the dirt within the rail yard. The spill has been contained and posed no threat to waterways. The reporting party has completed the initial cleanup, but some contaminated soil remains. They plan to excavate a foot of soil to fully remediate the area. An onsite hazmat specialist, employed by the property, notified the county health department and was subsequently advised to contact OES. | ||
