| g. DESCRIPTION: | ///Historical Report/// Per reporting party, a warehouse employee filled an Alkapor 50 empty tote with water to use with a pressure washer. Despite appropriate labeling on the tote, the employee ignored it and proceeded to use the tote. As a result, the warehouse area was sprayed with the chemical mist, exposing six (6) employees. Approximately 1 1/2 hours later, the 6 employees began to experience symptoms, prompting an investigation. Following standard operating procedures (SOP), the supervisor was contacted, and 911 was notified. Upon Hazmat arrival, nine (9) employees exhibited symptoms and were instructed to undergo decontamination. Two (2) employees were transported to a local hospital for observation but have since been released. The release was contained and barricaded within the area, with no waterways affected. The area was cleaned using absorbents and a triple wash process, followed by proper disposal. An investigation is currently underway. Evacuations remained in place until the area was deemed safe. | ||
