DESCRIPTION: Per reporting party, due to a vessel (pleasure craft) that ran aground at the incident location led to the release of a combination of oil and fuel, creating a sheen of 1550 ft by 140 feet in Huntington Harbor. The oil release is being managed using containment booms, while the fuel is expected to disperse naturally with sunlight exposure. There have been no reported impacts on wildlife or any fire incidents.

Per NRC: “The caller stated that a vessel sank at the location, which caused an unknown oil and gasoline to release into Huntington harbor. The amounts of the materials that released are currently unknown to the caller.”
