Orignal Description:Per reporting party, a third-party construction company accidentally struck a sewer line, resulting in an ongoing release of approximately 1,000 gallons. This release is currently impacting Lake Tahoe, and no containment or stoppage efforts have been conducted at this time. CalFire and the local Fire Department are on scene.
Update(s): 07/18/2024 10:18:48 PM - No new information. Adding NRC report 1405238 " THE CALLER RESPONDED TO A KNICKED SEWER LINE, THAT IS RELEASING SEWAGE ONTO THE PARKING LOT, AND INTO LAKE TAHOE" ; 07/19/2024 04:15:46 PM - Per reporting party. The updated volume is 125,000 gallons if sewage that released. It was contained by 0300 hour, ther was no more release after that time. The site has been cleaned which is the parking lot and the shore zone, but some sewage did make in to the lake.

Per reporting party. The updated volume is 125,000 gallons if sewage that released. It was contained by 0300 hour, ther was no more release after that time. The site has been cleaned which is the parking lot and the shore zone, but some sewage did make in to the lake.
