DESCRIPTION: Per the reporting party: The decommissioned cruise ship Aurora experienced damage due to unknown reasons which put a hole on the side of the ship, causing it to sink and release an unknown amount of oil. The vessel is not carrying passengers. The release is ongoing and the material is entering the Little Potato Slough, which is a tributary of the San Joaquin River. The incident is upriver from a drinking water facility in Stockton and it is unknown if they are affected. Caller reported that no actions have been taken at this time to stop the release or contain it. San Joaquin Sheriff's Dept. and the United States Coast Guard are en route to the incident location at the time of report. Vessel name: Aurora. Weight: > 2,000 tons. Length: 293 feet. Passenger Capacity: 1600.
