g. DESCRIPTION: Release due to a Storm Surge. Per the reporting party, the listed sewage release was an estimate based on calculations. Due to 14 inches of rain since 11/20/2024, and a mechanical control failure, Lift Station Number 3, did not operate properly, and the pumps were not operating. This caused the sewage overflow on 11/22/2024 at 0200 until 0800 in the morning. The overflow impacted a storm drain which empties into the Pacific Ocean. The overflow has been stopped, but it was unrecoverable.
