Orignal Description:Per the reporting party a gasoline tanker truck got into a traffic collision the freeway causing the release and the other vehicle involved is releasing from the saddle tank. The release is still ongoing into the desert. Evacuations are being established in the surrounding areas, there is a railroad is next to the incident location which will halt all train traffic. The location is also next to a private airport. CalFire, CalTrans, Local FD and PD are on scene.
Update(s): 08/08/2024 02:41:48 AM - Additional Reporting Party calling from Union Pacific Railroad to report same incident. Adding that the semi truck involved in the accident came to rest on Union Pacific Property approximately 5 to 10 feet from a rail road track (main line) and was releasing diesel fuel. Train traffic is currently shut down. Union Pacific was advised that two adults were injured as a result of the traffic accident. See confidential for UPRR RIMs #. Fire Department is on scene. The Union Pacific Hazmat Manager is in contact with the Fire Department.
; 08/08/2024 07:16:00 AM - Per email update: CHP and Riverside Co FD are still on scene. Lane 3 & 4 are still shutdown. Remainder of freeway is open. No waterways impacted. No unmet needs.
