g. DESCRIPTION: The caller reports a mechanical failure on a small pressure hose of a pump, resulting in a release of less than 15 gallons of leachate onto the soil. The release has been stopped and contained, with no impact on waterways. Affected soil has been removed and placed in a tote for disposal, and the liquid on the soil has been collected and removed. The leachate contained 0.8 milligrams per liter of benzene, unknown amount of treatment solution (iron chelate), and an unknown amount of peroxide. Additionally, one person has been injured and transported to a local hospital.
