Orignal Description:Per the Reporting Party: A semi truck struck an unknown object or debris in the roadway causing one of the trucks fuel saddle tanks to rupture, The driver pulled over immediately after striking the object; the saddle fuel tank released it's contents onto the asphalt and soil on the side of the freeway. Some of the material (unknown amount) did reach a storm drain. It is unknown where the storm drain leads. The truck driver initially deployed a spill kit; followed by personnel that responded from the distribution center deploying additional barriers and cones around the spill. The truck has been towed away. A contractor will be responding for clean up. It is unknown if CHP or Fire Department responded to the scene. There were no reported injuries. | ||||||

The caller reported that the driver was heading north and exited onto the North Exit ramp. The driver then proceeded down Hwy 33 to Henry Miller Rd, where the vehicle stopped, and the majority of the diesel was released. Material did enter the storm drain which was clogged with debris and was able to be completely recovered. The creek located in the North exit ramp was not impacted. | |
