Orignal Description:Per the NRC report the caller is reporting a spill of Styrene from a single tanker railroad car on an industry track due to unknown causes. Caller stated there is a vapor cloud due to this incident and everyone is being evacuated a quarter mile out. Railroad Involved: BNSF Train Number: LYBX5173 | ![]() | ![]() | ||||
Update(s): 08/11/2022 09:33:08 PM - The CSWC made a call to BNSF and recived the following update: Caller sated that the railcar was dropped off on the 3rd of August. Per the caller from what he been told it is a small leak from the railcar and that they are unsure how long it has been leaking, Estimated time of containment is 2 -3 hours. Nearest cross street: Old Oleander Ave & Harvill Ave ; 08/12/2022 10:58:27 AM - Emergency response team is on scene, checking the temperature of the railcar. Hwy 215, the middle lanes on both sides are closed from Vaburen Blvd to Cajalco Avenue .
