g. DESCRIPTION: Per the RP - CalGEM’s inspection of the Afana lease in Kern Bluff Oil Field identified seven wells that are leaking methane, with a PID and FLIR camera. The high methane concentration was measured directly at the source of the leak, methane was not detected in the atmosphere or anywhere else around the wells. An independent inspection by Bakersfield fire department determined that the wells do not present an apparent hazard to the general public or the surrounding communities.
