Orignal Description:Per the reporting party, Metrolink contacted Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) because this incident occurred on their tracks, but it was a UPRR train that was involved in the incident. A vehicle was repeatedly driving into the stopped train. It was reversing and driving into the train over and over again. The freight train is number IBRLCX of the 13th, and the locomotive number is UP5929. The direction of travel was unknown. The incident occurred on a main line track. There was no railroad crossing involved. The vehicle was a white Ford pick-up truck. There were no injuries reported, and the subject fled the scene when the police arrived. There was no derailment or release of Hazmat. The main line is closed, and it is unknown when it will be open again. The tracks must be inspected. The incident is under investigation. It is suspected that the individual was stealing something from the train.

Per the NRC Report: "Caller states that a Union Pacific train on a Metro Link track, was involved in an incident with a vehicle the Union Pacific crew noticed a while ford truck was "continuously colliding with a train railcar" for unknown reasons. Vehicle then fled the scene."
