| g. DESCRIPTION: | Per the reporting party: A boat fire occurred in Channel Island Harbor which leapt to another nearby vessel. It is unknown of how the fire occurred. The vessel that caught fire, named the Stephanie, contained 2 marine batteries and 20 gallons of fuel. At the time of the report, it is unknown if either of these materials were released or affected by the fire. The second vessel, named the Current Sea, is an electric vessel that was near the Stephanie and also caught fire. The Oxnard Fire Department utilized PHOS-CHEK (named AFS) to put out the fires. 12 gallons of PHOS-CHEK entered the water and is currently spread over a wide area around the vessels. A soft BOOM and a hard BOOM were deployed to prevent further spread and contain any potential release of fuel. The Stephanie is partially submerged but still afloat.
