g. DESCRIPTION: Per Reporting Party : The Alameda City Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at a resource laboratory manufacturing plant for Sila Nanotechnologies. When the fire department arrived on scene the silica dust that had combusted when it came in contact with oxygen, was out; extinguished by the on site internal fire suppression system. It had burned for a couple minutes before being extinguished. A unknown amount of silica dust was released into the atmosphere. Per reporting party the quantity released was a "small amount". Approximately 100 employees were evacuated during the incident. Evacuation was lifted and employees are back inside facility. While on scene the Alameda City Fire Department was also in contact via phone with the Alameda County Hazmat Team who provided technical reference for the incident.
