Orignal Description:The reporting party states that a Hub Group driver struck a fire hydrant impacting the vehicle's oil pan, which released under 5 gallons of oil that mixed with water discharging from the fire hydrant. The oil mix moved to a nearby storm drain. No injuries. | ![]() | ![]() | ||||
Update(s): 02/01/2023 05:34:29 PM - Per NRC Report: Caller states a truck hit a fire hydrant which ripped the oil pan open causing the release of an estimated 8 gallons of motor oil on to a parking lot and a storm drain. Remedial Actions: Fire department has been on scene they flushed the storm drain for two hours trying to chase the release. Caller stated that the fire department is satisfied that the impact is minimal and no sheen has been found at any outfalls. Release is secured. | ![]() | ![]() |

Per NRC Report: Caller states a truck hit a fire hydrant which ripped the oil pan open causing the release of an estimated 8 gallons of motor oil on to a parking lot and a storm drain. Remedial Actions: Fire department has been on scene they flushed the storm drain for two hours trying to chase the release.
