Orignal Description:Per the reporting party: A release of sanitary sewage occurred at a lateral cleanout due to a blockage in the pipeline. It is unknown what is causing the blockage. The material moved onto the city sidewalk and down into nearby storm drains, which lead to Elmhurst Creek. At the time of the report, the release is ongoing and is deemed recoverable. The incident is currently under investigation.

SITUATION UPDATE:
Per the reporting party: The pipe and cleanout involved are not part of the city main but are privately owned. The Oakland City Sewer Division will be calling the owner of the building to abate the issue. The City of Oakland will conduct cleanup of the side walk as a courtesy.
