DESCRIPTION: Per the reporting party: A repair was being made on a pump system and one of the valves was left open resulting in 300 gallons of ( 50% ) Sodium Hydroxide to spill into the secondary concrete containment. This release has been stopped and contained and no waterways were impacted. A contractor will perform the clean-up .

Per NRC report: Sodium hydroxide (50%) released from a pumping system due to a valve that was left open.

Remedial actions: leak was stopped by closing the valve and Hazmat team will handle the cleanup.
