g. DESCRIPTION: A fitting on an above ground 6 inch metal pipe failed due to unknown reasons. The incident resulted in 300 gallons of sludge to be released onto the grounds of the listed facility. Technicians shut off a pump, stopping the release. Of the total amount of sludge released, a small amount entered the San Joaquin River. A cleanup is in progress. The release to the river was unrecoverable.
