g. DESCRIPTION: Per reporting party, a broken transmission valve located 3 feet underwater and underground caused the release of an unknown amount of natural gas into the atmosphere. In an attempt to alleviate the issue, grease was injected into the line, but it ended up in the waterway. The problem was discovered while crews were working on a nearby pipeline project. The release has not yet been fixed, but crews are actively working to resolve the issue. The oil has been contained with booms, and the waterline where the sheen was seen has been skimmed, making it no longer visible. It is believed that the hydrocarbon release has been mitigated.
