g. DESCRIPTION: Per the reporting party, the system malfunctioned, and the fire sprinklers were activated causing the system to deluge firefighting foam and water for approximately 20 minutes. The release impacted a secondary containment area, a concrete foundation and trap rock. No waterways were impacted. The operations department shut down the system. A contractor will be engaged to perform the clean-up. The reporting party will call back with updates on the amounts. They do not believe that the foam contains P SOA or P FAS chemicals. But they will be testing to verify the content.

Per the NRC report, firefighting foam released from a firefighting system due to an equipment malfunction. The System was shut down, and the release was stopped. A third party cleanup contractor is responding.
