DESCRIPTION: Per the Reporting Party: A semi truck collided with the guard rail and a sign causing the passenger side saddle fuel tank to rupture releasing diesel fuel onto the soil on the side of freeway just north of a storm drain. No waterways were affected. The Fire Department is on scene with CHP. The release has been stopped and contained. An unknown quantity of motor oil from the engine compartment also released and mixed with the diesel fuel (total release of diesel and motor oil; 20 to 30 gallons). The driver sustained minor injuries and is not being transported to the hospital. Cal Trans will be handling clean up. One lane of the freeway (#4) is temporarily shut down.
