Orignal Description:Reporting party states ammonia is coming from an unknown source on a poultry processing farm. Ammonia sensors were triggered in the building.The Fire Department is on scene trying to find the source of the leak. All lines and valves have been shut off while the investigation is taking place. It is not clear if it is only in vapor form, or also in liquid form. There are no known waterways impacted at this time. Approximately 550 employees have been evacuated. There are no injuries, fatalities reported. | ||||||
Update(s): 11/04/2024 05:11:35 AM - CALLER IS REPORTING A RELEASE OF ANHYDROUS AMMONIA AT THEIR FACILITY FROM AN UNKNOWN SOURCE AND CAUSE AT THIS TIME. THERE WAS AN EVACUATION OF 550 EMPLOYEES FROM THE FACILITY AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. FIRE DEPT IS ONSITE MONITORING THE OUTSIDE PERIMETER, CONTRACTOR IS ON SITE AS WELL TRYING TO FIND THE SOURCE ; 11/04/2024 07:23:02 AM - Per the reporting party, The Fresno City Fire Department was notifying the California State Warning Center of an extended Hazmat release that is currently ongoing. The release of Ammonia has not been stopped. 1489 K Street is the building that was affected. Everyone was evacuated. The reporting party confirmed that this was the same number of evacuees as was listed in the original report. The Hazmat team arrived at 0617. |
