g. DESCRIPTION: Per the Reporting Party: A waste transfer truck (from the Gilton Company) delivering a load of debris to the land fill was screened at the scales prior to entering the landfill activating a radiological detector. A hand held radiological detection device was then utilized to ascertain a specific reading and the detector picked up a reading of 1400 microrems. The truck is currently isolated near the scale with caution tape and cones set up around it. Staff will continue to take daily readings beginning Monday 12/9/24 until it is below 75 microrems at which point the truck will be released to enter the landfill. The license plate number on the truck and trailer was not available to the Reporting Party.
