g. DESCRIPTION: Per the Reporting Party : Both pumps at a lift station malfunctioned for approximately 20 minutes causing approximately 10,000 gallons of sewage to release into a storm catch basin about 50 feet from the lift station and then flowed into a secondary storm catch basin and eventually flowed into a wash area where it remains contained. No waterways were affected. City of Beaumont Waste Department crew responded to the scene and were able to repair the pumps and get the lift station operational again. The released material is contained within the storm catch basins and a plan for clean up is being developed. The City of Beaumont does not operate this particular lift station; Olive Wood Contractors operate this lift station. The Beaumont Police Department received a report of the incident and contacted the City of Beaumont Waste Department who responded to the scene, repaired the pump and stopped the release.
