Orignal Description:The caller stated that the cause of the release was due to a vehicle accident, resulting in the material impacting the roadway and soil. The caller mentioned that the tank has fully released its contents and is no longer releasing. No cleanup actions have been taken at this time.

The caller also stated that the tank has a capacity of 11,000 gallons but is unsure how full it was at the time of the release.

The caller stated that there is a secondary tank connected to the tank that released the material. It has a placard labeled UN1789 which is not releasing at this time.
Update(s): 11/23/2024 05:53:37 AM - CHP Called back with an update: Correction on the tank capacity; it holds 1,100 gallons. Some of the liquid fertilizer did enter The Rockwood Canal; it is unknown on the exact quantity to enter the canal.

Per the NRC Report: "Caller reported an accident involving at least one vehicle resulting in a release of an unknown fertilizer. It is unknown if the vehicle impacted a stationary tank or a tank that was part of another vehicle. Caller reported that it is believed that the entire contents released but the total amount is unknown at this time. It is unknown what caused the collision at this time. Caller reported that the material spilled on roadway and did not appear to make it into Rockwood Canal. The tank is reported to hold 1100 gallons, unknown how full it was when it ruptured. A secondary tank nearby contained a placard reading UN 1789. It is unknown if the tank that ruptured contains the same material or if a hose connected to the ruptured tank also connects to the secondary tank."
