| Orignal Description:Per reporting party: In a UPRR yard, there is a BNSF rail car with a cracked tank leaking acid at a rate of 5 gallons per minute. Impacts to the line and cleanup plans are unknown. This came in as a 911 call from a citizen and is Incident number 999. | | | ||||
| Update(s): 10/31/2024 07:16:10 PM - Per the reporting party: This is not a BNSF Rail Car. ; 11/01/2024 10:59:48 AM - Reporting Party with Union Pacific Railroad called back with an update: "The release stopped at 1738 on 10/31/24. A magnetic patch on the rail car tank was used to stop the release. The main line was re-opened at 1830 on 10/31/24. On 11/1/24 at 0555 the magnetic patch that had been applied to the tank car to stop the release developed a slow drip. This new release is contained and has not worsen since it started at 0555. The new drip release is not affecting train traffic." | | | ||||
