DESCRIPTION: Per the reporting party: A lateral break occurred in a city sewage line causing a release of more than 1,000 gallons of sewage from underneath the sidewalk onto the road and down into a storm drain downhill from the location. It is unknown what caused the break and is being investigated by a contractor. Caller states that the sewage was releasing approximately 5-10 gallons a minute. Fire department personnel shut off the water to the area, stopping the release. Cleanup and collection of the sewage is being conducted.
