Per reporting party, at 1608 hours, an elevated gas and temperature reading was detected in an enclosure container posing a potential fire threat. The is currently no active fire. The local fire department is on scene monitoring the incident. The container holds 528 lithium-ion batteries, each weighing 195 pounds. No evacuations were necessary as personnel had already left for the day. A no-entry order is currently in place. No waterways are being impacted at this time.

Per NRC Report, "Caller states they received a notification from their operation team of elevated gas levels inside one of their metal lithium ion battery storage enclosures, indicating a potential fire. Enclosure contains 528 lithium-ion batteries weighing approx. 195 lbs each. Enclosure is outfitted with an internal thermal management system; in an event of a fire water is automatically activated to extinguish the fire."
