| g. DESCRIPTION: | Per Reporting Party : there is an unknown liquid that is creating a sheen on the surface of the water in a reservoir at the Amaral Pump Station. The source of the liquid is unknown. There is no odor to the liquid; staff deployed absorbent to the liquid which was originally a rainbow sheen that encompassed the entire 20 foot x 20 foot containment area of the reservoir and it then turned black in color. It is unknown how deep the reservoir; it is surrounded by concrete and contains storm run off water which goes to a pump station that discharges into Ward Creek (Zone 3A, line B). The pump has been shut off; no water is being pumped into the creek. A contractor is being contacted to respond for clean up; on site staff are still trying to locate the origin of the unknown fluid. A wrecking yard is located next to the pump station facility. According to the reporting party in the past run off from the wrecking yard washing vehicles has gone into reporting parties storm run off reservoir. Reporting party has also contacted Hayward Fire Department to respond. | ||
