DESCRIPTION: | THIS IS A DRILL, CORRESPONDS WITH DRILL CONTROL # 24-1085 Per Reporting Party : Two freight rail cars derailed on their side and are releasing an unknown product into Elkhorn Slough that leads to the Pacific Ocean. Train # MWVWC of the 20th, Locomotive # is unknown. It is unknown what the derailed rail cars are carrying. It is unknown what type of rail cars derailed or what their rail car numbers are. It is unknown what caused the derailment. It is unknown how many rail cars are in the train. This occurred on a single main line. Train traffic has been shut down. Union Pacific has personnel in route to the site as well as contractors. Monterey County Fire was notified by reporting party. Clean up handling is still to be determined.
