DESCRIPTION: Per the reporting party: An electrical issue regarding the main power and emergency generator at an anaerobic digesting facility caused the release of approximately 18,630 cu. ft into the atmosphere through the emergency venting chimneys. No vapor cloud was formed from this incident and the surrounding environment and population are unaffected. The release was stopped once an additional electrical system was committed. An investigation is still underway to determine the root cause of the release.

Per the NRC report: "Caller states approx. 18,630 cubit feet of Bio-Gas (main constituent: Methane) was released into the atmosphere from an anaerobic digestion facility at the Tajguas Landfill. An unspecified electrical issue caused the release. Investigation is underway."
