Orignal Description:Per the Reporting Party: An Amtrak passenger train struck a trespassing pedestrian at a rail crossing resulting in fatal injuries to the pedestrian. Amtrak Train # AMT712 on the 29; Locomotive # AMTK90218. There was no derailment or hazardous material release. Train traffic has been shut down for the investigation. It is unknown if the passengers will be remaining on board. Berkeley Police Department has responded to the scene.

Per the NRC Report: "Caller reported that a passenger train struck an individual resulting in one fatality. The incident did not occur at a grade crossing. There were no other injuries or fatalities, no derailments, and no materials released." Remedial Actions: "Unknown"
