Per the reporting party: Pilot parked their privately owned helicopter on the embankment of the California side of the East Fork Carson River so that he may go fishing. Due to unknown reasons, the helicopter slid down off the embankment and into the river. It is unknown of how far into the river the helicopter is or if there is any confirmed release of materials. At the time of report, no known actions have taken place to contain any potentially released material nor to remove the helicopter from the river. The Department of Fish and Wildlife will be dispatching personnel to conduct an investigation on 10/23/2024. Helicopter Type: Robinson R22 (2 seater). Helicopter Color: Gray. Ownership: Privately Owned.
