Per the reporting party, one of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power's (LADWP) transformers caught fire at approximately 0230 this morning. LADWP personnel and LAPD and an unidentified Fire Department are on scene. It is unknown if the fire is extinguished. It is unknown what surface the oil has impacted currently. The location is one of LADWP's Receiving Stations. The spilled material is transformer oil of unknown PCB content and an unknown amount. It is also unknown if the spilled material impacted a storm drain or waterway. It is also unknown if there is any road closure.

Per the NRC Report, the caller reports a potential discharge of an unknown amount of transformer oil that could impact gutters leading to a storm drain. The material would be coming from a station transformer. The cause of the potential discharge is unknown currently. They are still assessing the situation. It is unknown if the water supply is contaminated. The environmental impact is unknown. The situation is being assessed. It is unknown if the release is secured. The damage amount is unknown currently. No additional information has been provided.
