|Update(s): 09/17/2021 08:56:12 PM - Per the NRC report: CALLER REPORTED A RELEASE OF SULFUR DIOXIDE FROM A FLARE INTO THE AIR DUE TO AN EARTHQUAKE. THERE WAS AN UNKNOWN AMOUNT RELEASE BUT THE RQ IS 500 POUNDS.|
REMEDIAL ACTIONS: IN THE PROCESS OF STABILIZING OPERATIONS.
; 09/17/2021 10:49:34 PM - RP states, 100 lbs of Hydrogen Sulfide and 1000 lbs of Nitrogen Oxides were additionally released into the atmosphere due to the flaring. The amount of both H2S and NOX have exceeded their threshold. Also advised, some of the catalyst released into the Dominguez Channel which is located near the refinery. They will be conducting cleanup of the channel and if additional assistance is needed, they will have their contractor aid in the cleanup.
; 09/17/2021 11:55:25 PM - RP states that after further investigation there was no release of catalyst into the Dominguez Channel. The equipment that would have released it is restored and operational.

THE AMOUNT IS GREATER THAN 100 POUNDS.

CALLER REPORTED A RELEASE OF SULFUR DIOXIDE FROM A FLARE INTO THE AIR
DUE TO AN EARTHQUAKE. THERE WAS AN UNKNOWN AMOUNT RELEASE BUT THE
RQ IS 500 POUNDS.

CALLER IS REPORTING THAT THEIR FACILITY IS RELEASING NITROGEN
DIOXIDE INTO THE FLARE AND THEN INTO ATMOSPHERE FROM THE SAME
INCIDENT. CALLER STATES THAT THIS MAY POTENTIALLY EXCEED RQ. REPORT
#21-5104 WAS GENERATED FROM CAL OES FOR THE INCIDENT.
