| g. DESCRIPTION: | Per the reporting party: At 1630 hours, a trailer containing asphalt emulsion oil was unhooked from the transportation vehicle on soft dirt. The trailer sunk into the dirt and tipped over. This caused a release of material from the top hatches down onto a dirt embankment. The material ran down the embankment toward a road however it did not reach it, stopping in a gully. A lack of cell service in the area delayed response, however CHP was first to respond. It is unknown of property ownership and will be determined following investigation. CHP contacted the local fire department and Yolo County Environmental Health to inform them of the release, prompting response by both parties. The trailer has been placed upright and moved away from the edge of the embankment but still remains on the property. Cleanup will be conducted following determination of the responsible party. The caller reported that the product will likely harden by morning. Note: The trailer was owned by Western Emulsion, but the company that transported the product was Crest Transportation. | ||
