Orignal Description:Reporting party states their fuel oil system had a mechanical error which led to the discharge of oil into the San Diego Bay. The release has been stopped and contained. Booms have been applied and a contractor will be conducting the clean up.
Update(s): 01/22/2023 12:54:35 PM - Per NRC Report: Caller is reporting a release of an estimated 20 to 30 gallons of diesel fuel into San Diego Bay. The release is being attributed to mechanical failure. Caller stated that clean up is nearly complete, they were able to apply booms and absorbent pads.
Remedial Actions: Booms applied, absorbents applied, clean up crew enroute, and release is secured.

Per NRC Report: Caller is reporting a release of an estimated 20 to 30 gallons of diesel fuel into San Diego Bay. The release is being attributed to mechanical failure. Caller stated that clean up is nearly complete, they were able to apply booms and absorbent pads.
