g. DESCRIPTION: A homeowner struck and damaged a 1/2-inch plastic natural gas line during excavation, causing a release of gas into the atmosphere. The Orange County Fire Department is on-site, and as a precaution, six residents were evacuated from two homes. No fires, injuries, or medical assistance were required. The gas release is ongoing, and a temporary road closure has been implemented. SoCalGas technicians are assessing the situation, with plans to isolate the release point, halt the gas flow, and make permanent repairs.
