Orignal Description:A solo semi truck accident is causing the release, material is slowly flowing from a 47,000 gallon container onto asphalt and soil, FD has stopped the material from spreading but has not stopped the leak, the flow rate and an estimate on control time are unknown, Calaveras reservoir is in the vicinity but has not been impacted, unknown who is performing clean up.
Update(s): 09/13/2023 02:47:22 PM - Called to update substance and status: An unknown amount of Diesel Fuel from the semi truck saddle tanks has released onto soil, no other hazmat release has occurred, the semi truck went off the roadway and came to rest on a hillside, an attached trailer was carrying a 5,000 gallon container of liquid aluminum, the container has not ruptured, authorities are making arrangements to secure the storage container, recover the semi truck, and mitigate the release.

SITUATION UPDATE:
Reporting party states there was a release of 4,300 gallons of liquid aluminium onto vegetation and soil. The release impacted a creek going into the Calaveras Reservoir. The release is ongoing and they are working on a plan to mitigate the situation. Reporting party states there was no release of diesel from the saddle tank and there were no injuries.
